Fall Tissue Boxes - Set of 4

Woodland. The pleasure of a good fall print is finding something in it you missed. We drew the whole floor of the forest as a specimen sheet: fox, owl, hedgehog, squirrel, raccoon, a nest, mushrooms, and leaves in the moment they turn. Soft sage ground so the color of the animals carries.

Feather Rosette. Game feathers have been collected and mounted for centuries, and mounted well they stop being feathers and become geometry. We arranged them into a full rosette, every barb rendered, on a caramel ground that pulls the browns and rusts forward.

Pheasant Chinoiserie. Birds in a branching tree with an ornamental cage is one of the oldest motifs in decorative arts, and it has carried across two centuries of wallpaper without going stale. Rendered here in the fall register: bronze, moss, cream, one flash of teal on the wing.

Feather Study. The rosette is the performance. This is the specimen drawer. The same feathers laid straight, side by side, in the order a collector would pin them, so the eye reads the differences rather than the arrangement.
